Safer speed Hatfields Beach

To whom it may concern,

Auckland Transport, Auckland Council,
Mr Mayor, Local Board members,

We are petitioning for the recently changed speed of 70 km's between Orewa and Hatfields Beach (Bridge) to be brought back to 60 or even 50km's, due to the danger for locals, schoolchildren,  visitors, campers, tourists and others visiting this neighbourhood that have to cross this now 70km road. 

There are bus stops, toilets and parking areas on different sides of the road, that makes it scary crossing when it's busy, at some points. For instance motorists coming from Orewa driving 70 won't see school children crossing the road near Hammond Avenue bus stop in time due to the bend in the downgoing road.

There are no safe crossings, let alone zebra paths here.

Please hear our concern and act before any accident happens!
